Diba Lab at 2025 NBTE Annual Meeting
On 27-28 November 2025, our group actively participated in the Netherlands Society for Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering (NBTE) Annual Meeting held in Lunteren, The Netherlands. Our group members, Ilze Donderwinkel (postdoc) and Farhad Sanaei (PhD Candidate), presented two oral presentations, while Yannick Hajee (PhD Candidate) and Yuan Zhao (Visiting PhD Student) presented two poster presentations at the conference. We were particularly pleased that Liwen Wang (Visiting P

New Perspective to Bridge Bone Tissue Engineering and Organ-on-Chip Technology
Our Perspective Article entitled “Harnessing Advances in Bone Tissue Engineering for Design of Bone-on-Chip Systems” has been published in Advanced Healthcare Materials. This perspective outlines how progress in bone tissue engineering, such as dynamic biomaterials, tailored microenvironments, and mechanical cues, can be leveraged to advance the design of physiologically relevant bone-on-chip (BoC) systems. The article bridges fundamental principles from biomaterials science

Farhad Sanaei at Nature Conference on Engineered Human Disease Models
On 28–29 October 2025, Farhad Sanaei represented our group at the Nature Conferences – Engineered Models of Human Disease, held in Belgrade, Serbia. He presented our ongoing work on a modular, perfusable 3D bone-on-chip platform that integrates click chemistry with organ-on-chip technologies to better replicate bone tissue dynamics and disease progression. This work highlights our efforts to develop advanced in vitro systems that more closely mimic (patho)physiological condi

Vidi grant awarded for DYNAVIVO project
Dr. Mani Diba received a Vidi grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) for the DYNAVIVO project. The Vidi grant, part of NWO’s Talent Programme , is a personal award designed to support experienced researchers in initiating or expanding an independent line of research. DYNAVIVO is specifically supported by NWO’s Applied and Engineering Sciences (AES) domain, which promotes technical-scientific research with direct applications and impact for people and society. In DYNAVIVO
